November 7th at 6:30pm, the Student Libraries Advisory Council will be co-hosting a Book Talk with the UNCG Historical Society in the Reading Room of Jackson Library. This talk, which is free and open to the public, will feature Dr. Andrew Darien, who has recently written a book entitled Becoming New York's Finest: Race, Gender, and the Integration of the NYPD, 1935-1980. Dr. Darien will describe his book and the research process that he used to write it, and there will be time for questions. There will also be a small reception after the talk.
Rachel Sanders, the Chairperson for the Student Libraries Advisory Council here at UNCG says the group works as a communication channel between the staff of the UNCG Libraries and students at UNCG who might have questions or comments or suggestions. If students have questions, they can contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
